Accessibility statement for this website
Last updated
This statement covers the Testamur marketing website (this page, the home page, the imprint and the privacy notice). It does not cover the Testamur Shopify app, which will get its own statement when it launches.
Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, which goes beyond WCAG 2.1 AA, the web requirements in EN 301 549 v3.2.1.
Conformance status
Not yet independently assessed. We tested the site ourselves (see below) and changed the code for every barrier we found. No independent auditor and no group of disabled users has tested it yet, so we do not claim full conformance.
How we tested
- Automated: axe-core 4 rules for WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA, run on every page at phone (390 px) and desktop (1280 px) widths, in light and dark colour schemes. Result on 25 October 2026: no barriers reported.
- Colour contrast of every text and interface colour pair calculated in both colour schemes (minimum 4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for interface parts).
- Scripted checks in a real browser: the order and visibility of keyboard focus, the skip link, heading order and landmarks, reflow at 320 px width without sideways scrolling, and the waitlist form’s labels and error message.
What we built in
- A “Skip to main content” link, one main landmark, labelled navigation regions and a logical heading order on every page.
- Text set in Atkinson Hyperlegible at 16 px or larger, designed by the Braille Institute for readers with low vision.
- Status shown with an icon and a text label, never by colour alone.
- Light and dark colour schemes that follow your system setting, both checked for contrast.
- No accessibility overlay or widget, no autoplaying media and no animation beyond short colour transitions, which are switched off when you ask for reduced motion.
Known limitations
- The site has not yet been tested with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack) by a person. We checked the structure they rely on (landmarks, headings, labels, names of links and buttons) with automated tools only.
- The example conformance record on the home page is a data table; on narrow screens it scrolls sideways inside its own frame.
- This statement is in English only. The site itself is available in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish; the translations are being reviewed by native speakers.
